ABOUT THE TEAM:
If successful, the team will work on harder repertoire and attend local competitions as well as perform at local events. There will also be the opportunity to cover a vaster range of repertoire not just musical theatre. The focus for this is on singing not acting.
The team is open to all ages but please be aware that some younger children may not be quite ready for the commitment and time required.
All Stardom Team must wear the uniform of STARDOM zip up hoodie and Little Stars t-shirt and wear this for competitions and shows.
IT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT TEAM MEMBERS BEHAVE TO A HIGH STANDARD IN REGULAR WORKSHOPS!
Children who are not able to show this discipline could lose their place on the team.
THE TEAM
NEW to 2024 we are offering the opportunity for a select group of children, who are already attending a workshop to join the competitive team: Stardom.
Auditions will be held termly until we are full and once placed in the team your child will have a place for 1 year before having to re apply.
Selection for the team will be based on:
- Singing Quality & Technique.
- Stage Presence / star quality.
- Confidence.
- Being able to listen to instructions and focus.
- Listening and general behaviour in regular classes.
- Ability to support and work well with others as a team.
- Ability to learn material fast.
- Able to hold a harmony line.
- Stamina and resilience as well as versatility.
Audition Information:
Children need to prepare for the audition, and it is important that children applying for the team are prepared, details of what is required are below:
- Introduce themselves and the song they are going to share
- Prepare and perform a song from a musical theatre show
- Research the production that their song is from and give 3 interesting facts about the show to demonstrate their knowledge and background of the performance.
- Listen to myself teach them an unknown (made up) melody and be able to copy it back.
- Explain why they feel being in the team is important to them
